John,

Eddie Geller, here — I'm an activist, Millennial, and former comedian running for Congress.

Our August 23rd primary is just days away and I wanted to share a longer, personal note about our campaign.

I’m about to tell you why — and how I know that we’re the team that can win in November — but first, can you chip in $5 to our grassroots campaign for Congress?

Remember my campaign jingle? You might be asking — why would I launch my campaign with a parody of a sitcom jingle?

Here are three reasons why, John.

#1 Authenticity: Growing up, I was the chubby kid who figured out that telling jokes was a way to make friends and keep from being bullied.

At the University of Florida, I fell in love with Improv comedy. Improv comedy teaches you how to be present, listen, and collaborate — essential skills for being a representative in Congress.

And after college, I moved to Los Angeles, I pursued acting. If you happen to be watching the Stanley Cup in 2010, you may have caught my star turn in a breathtaking Best Buy commercial.

Comedy has always been my voice, my art, and the lens through which I see the world.

It’s also how I came to the world of activism: I was ending my career as a comedian in Los Angeles when I first realized how I could combine comedy and politics.

I then went on to work at Upworthy, the DNC, and PrioritiesUSA. I was part of the team that helped win back the House in 2018 and know what it takes to win tough races.

How’d we do it? Creativity.

And that’s #2: Creativity. Our campaign is brave enough to do things creatively.

The old, losing playbook says you have to run the safest campaign possible to win. You have to ask the DC establishment for permission. That’s why we wind up with so many Democratic campaigns that look like they were grown in a DC lab.

Doing things differently means leaning more into who we are, not trying to follow some poll-tested idea of what a middle-of-the-road Democrat is supposed to look like.

I’m proud to talk about the climate crisis and how we need to tackle student debt. We must proudly stand with the LGBTQ+ community, defend marriage equality, and work to protect trans folks.

I think it’s time for new leaders to step up and make themselves heard in the halls of Congress.

Which brings me to Number 3, Electability: Our campaign is the one that can win in November.

The Republican Party is off the rails. If their weapon is fear and anger and hopelessness, I’m coming armed with joy and optimism and a bit of creativity.

If we want to invite more people into the political process, we have to stop lecturing them and we have to find ways to be inviting. We are never going to beat Republicans by just trying to be more “nice” or giving them more facts.

So, why a jingle? Authenticity, creativity, electability. That’s how we win.

How do I know this is a winning combination? We are the only campaign in this race to have raised over half a million dollars. We’re endorsed by leading progressive organizations like the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, the Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida, the FL College Democrats, and more.

Our campaign has the momentum — but I need your support. Our August 23rd primary is just days away and I’m counting on your support to push us across the finish line.

Can you chip in $5 to our grassroots campaign to flip Florida’s 15th?
