All of this August we are shining a light on the zoo industry and the horrors that elephants face in captivity!
Elephants don’t belong in zoos. And the evidence is overwhelming! And despite the government saying they are looking into banning elephants in zoos, still nothing has changed!
I recently emailed you asking for your support with our new campaign to get elephants banned for zoos. Thank you if you have been able to do this. DEFRA have already received 400 emails asking them to ban elephants from being exploited in zoos!
Join us and demand DEFRA take action for elephants in zoos.
Elephants (and all animals) suffer in zoos. Elephants live shorter lives, suffer from physical illnesses due to the inappropriate enclosures they are forced to live in, they suffer with stereotypic behaviour due to the lack of space, and they are ripped apart from their families as they are transferred between zoos for breeding or behavioural reasons.
This is simply unacceptable, and we must fight until all elephants in zoos are either released to the wild where possible or transferred to Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) accredited sanctuaries to live in peace.
Here are other ways you can help elephants this summer:
Share the action on social media or with friends and family to help spread awareness

In conjunction with World Elephant Day, we are running a Summer Raffle to help raise vital funds for our campaign work against captivity. Help us to help elephants like Kate, who has spent over 50 years in a cage in Blackpool Zoo.
Anandas marshmallows, Jeavons toffee, Ombar chocolate, Mooies, Will’s Vegan Store, Beauty Without Cruelty, Eden Perfumes, Faith in Nature, Olive Wood Vegan and some of our own merchandise!
The raffle winners will be drawn LIVE on our Facebook page at 5pm on 1st September. We will email winners too so don't worry if you can't make the live draw.
Finally, if you are looking for a more long-term way to help animals like Kate the elephant, and to support our work, join us as a Freedom Champion.
Your monthly donation will fuel campaigns against cruel captivity, help us investigate zoos, lobby for change and spread the word that wild animals should be free!
Throughout August, if you join us as a Freedom Champion you will receive a free soft toy elephant as an extra special thank you!
Thank you for your continued support with our campaign work and for helping animals in captivity.
