*Implementing Community Based Violence Intervention Strategies Webinar Series Launches in September*

The?*Implementing Community Based Violence Intervention Strategies*?five-part webinar series will highlight a wide range of issues important to successfully implementing Community Violence Intervention (CVI) strategies. Using the?Bureau of Justice Assistance?CVI Checklist [ [link removed] ]?as a framework, the series will walk through the stages of planning and implementing of CVI strategies, and take a deeper dive into opportunities and challenges that jurisdictions face as they implement these strategies in their communities.

The webinar series will be hosted on the second Wednesday of each month from September 2022 to January 2023, from 1-3 p.m. ET. The webinars will be recorded and will be made available.

This webinar series is in support of Office of Justice Program?s (OJP)?Community Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative (CVIPI) [ [link removed] ], a recently launched program that will provide significant federal investment in evidence-informed strategies to reduce violence through tailored community-centered initiatives. In June 2022, President Biden signed the?Bipartisan Safer Communities Act [ [link removed] ]?into law, which invests an additional $250 million in critical CVI strategies over the next five years. CVIPI, among other resources provided by the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, will help seed and expand the community infrastructure needed to complement law enforcement activities and strengthen our neighborhoods.?
