John,
Election officials are currently deciding how many polling places to open
for the 2022 elections based on how many people have signed up to work the
polls. And your state currently has a shortage of poll workers.
Fewer polling places means longer travel times, longer lines, and more
voter disenfranchisement – especially for BIPOC voters, working-class
voters, and voters with disabilities.
We know that you care about protecting voting rights for all, especially
given the high stakes of the upcoming midterm elections. That is why
SumOfUs is partnering with Power the Polls to sign up as many poll workers
as possible today – Poll Worker Recruitment Day.
[ [link removed] ]Will you sign up to be a poll worker to help ensure that your state
keeps all its polling places open for the midterms?
Poll workers are critical to help maintain safe in-person voting for
communities without reliable access to mail service, voters with
disabilities, voters who need language assistance, and for voters who
simply want to cast their ballot in-person as they always have.
Serving as a poll worker is a valuable way to give back to your community
and support your neighbors. It’s one of the most effective ways you can
help break down barriers to voting and uphold our democracy.
Poll working is fun, nonpartisan, and you may even get paid! Do your part
to ensure safe, free, and fair elections for all voters.

we want to do it again this year.
