The Federal Reserve on Monday announced final guidelines for Reserve Banks to use when reviewing requests to access Fed accounts and payment services. The Account Access Guidelines do not establish legal eligibility standards, but instead establish a risk-focused framework for evaluating access requests from legally eligible institutions under federal law.
NAFCU sent members a Regulatory Alert Monday on the NCUA’s joint request for comment on a proposed policy statement on commercial real estate loan workouts and accommodations. The policy statement was proposed in conjunction with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. If adopted, the policy statement would replace similar Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council guidance issued in 2009 and be the new standard by which NCUA examiners analyze credit unions’ loan modification programs and loan loss calculation and recognition practices.
There is still time to register for NAFCU’s 2022 Congressional Caucus, where credit unions from across the country will meet to engage regulators and lawmakers on a wide range of industry topics and all things happening on the Hill. The event, happening September 11-14, will be held in-person in Washington, D.C.
