This past weekend, Jamaal went on NY-1 news to discuss the importance and
impact of passing the Inflation Reduction act, and how he's fighting for
transformative change for our communities.

Here's what he had to say:

It's time to put strategic price controls on the table,
John. When there are spikes in
the costs of essentials, we need to be able to move quickly and protect
people from financial hardships — and passing the IRA will allow us to do
just that. [ [link removed] ]Can we count on you to chip in $3 or more

Jamaal's work to find solutions for the crises we all face?

Jamaal was proud to bring the Inflation Reduction Act to the forefront of
our legislative agenda, but he needs our full support to continue fighting
for our communities. The Inflation Reduction Act is the largest investment
in clean energy in United States history. An almost 370 billion dollar
investment will help deal with climate change and environmental injustice
which disproportionately affects working class people.

Whatsmore, the successful passage of the IRA means we'll now make a
massive impact on our work to lower prescription drug costs by allowing
Medicare to negotiate for lower drug prices, and implementing a fair tax
system will ensure that billionaires and corporations pay their fair share
in taxes.

But make no mistake, while passing the IRA is a big step forward on a
number of critical issues we have a lot of work left to
do, John —
that's why we're working so hard to ensure Jamaal stays in Congress. But
we're proud to be taking this step in the right direction for the future
of working families, not only in NY-16 but all across the country.

Our movement has never been stronger and that's thanks to supporters like
you who have continued faith in our mission. Just yesterday, we hit our
most recent campaign mailer fundraising goal, allowing us to continue
sharing our progressive message with NY-16 voters before election day. But
we need to keep our foot on the gas if we want to continue seeing
much-needed change in our government and our communities.
