Woodward Dream Cruise 🚗

Today is Monday, August 15. On August 14, 15, and 17, we respectively mark the Independence Days of Pakistan, India, and Indonesia. Wednesday, August 17, is National Thrift Store Day. On Friday, August 19, we will celebrate National Aviation Day. The Woodward Dream Cruise will happen on Saturday, August 20.

Additionally, August is known for Back to School preparation.

This Saturday marks the start of the Woodward Dream Cruise.

From May to June 2022, manufactured car shipments increased 1% to 7.3 billion. Steer towards more manufacturing data.

Business Formation Statistics Monthly Data Release

The U.S. Census Bureau, on August 11, released new Business Formation Statistics (BFS) for July 2022. The BFS provide timely and high frequency information on new business applications and formations in the United States. The BFS are a standard data product of the Census Bureau, developed in research collaboration with economists affiliated with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the University of Maryland, and the University of Notre Dame.

Census Bureau Announces Release Date for 2020 Census Congressional District Summary Files

The U.S. Census Bureau recently announced it plans to release the 2020 Census Congressional District Summary Files in August 2023. These summary files are retabulations of selected summary levels from the Demographic and Housing Characteristics File (scheduled for release in May 2023) for the 118th Congress and the new state legislative districts. When states report changes to congressional districts, the Census Bureau retabulates data using the new boundaries.

Census Bureau to Release 2020 Post-Enumeration Survey Results   for Puerto Rico and U.S. Housing Units

The U.S. Census Bureau will release the final set of results from the 2020 Post-Enumeration Survey (PES) on August 16. These results will provide insight into the quality of the 2020 Census counts for the Puerto Rico population and housing units. It also includes coverage estimates for housing units across the nation, regions, states, and the District of Columbia, and by selected characteristics for the nation.  

The release includes two parts:  

  • Puerto Rico population and housing unit coverage
  • Housing unit coverage
