As the state of abortion access changes in light of the Supreme Court’s decision to end federal protections of abortion rights, AbortionFinder.org ([link removed]) regularly updates our state-by-state guide on abortion laws; statewide and regional resources to assist with costs, travel, and more; and information on finding the nearest verified provider.

AbortionFinder.org ([link removed]) features the most comprehensive directory of verified abortion providers in the US. All information is private and confidential as we do not collect user data. We're committed to making sure that everyone who needs help finding an abortion can access one, no matter who they are or how they identify.

Committing to Building a Reproductive Well-Being Movement

Reproductive well-being means that all people have equitable access to the information, services, and support they need to have control over their bodies, and to make their own decisions related to sexuality and reproduction throughout their lives.

This powerful idea has the power to dramatically change the care people receive, the opportunities available to them, and the systems of support that surround them. But it’s not yet reality today. Too many people—especially young people and those from historically marginalized communities —often lack the power to decide if, when, and under what circumstances to have or raise a child.

We’re committed to uplifting the many individuals championing the effort to support young people’s reproductive well-being. This month’s Power Player is Founder & Lead Educator of Everyone Deserves Sex Ed ([link removed]) , Anne Hodder-Shipp, CSE. Read her story ([link removed]) .
POLICY UPDATES

The White House and Congress have been working to address the fallout from the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health that overturned Roe v. Wade. The White House launched a website, ReproductiveRights.gov ([link removed]) , with information and resources for the public and President Biden issued an executive order ([link removed]) , Protecting Access to Reproductive Health Care Services. In response to directives in the executive order, Secretary Becerra announced ([link removed]) the Department of Health and Human Services action plan. The Department of Justice also created a Reproductive Rights Task Force
([link removed]) to coordinate appropriate federal government responses to state and local efforts to infringe on federal legal protections related to the provision or pursuit of reproductive health care.

Congress leapt into action by holding five committee hearings about reproductive rights and access to care, as well as by introducing legislation to protect those rights. The House of Representatives passed three bills: the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) ([link removed]) , which was revisited to meet the current moment; the Ensuring Women’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Act ([link removed]) , which makes clear that people seeking abortion care retain their right to cross state lines to access the care they need; and the Right to Contraception Act ([link removed]) , which would create a statutory right for individuals to obtain contraceptives and a corresponding right for health care providers to
provide contraception.

Unfortunately, the first two bills have been blocked in the Senate, and the third is likely to suffer the same fate.
