Yesterday morning, a man drove his car into a barricade near the U.S. Capitol and began opening fire before ultimately killing himself.

This has been the fourth attack on the Capitol since the January 6th Insurrection. And it is coming at a time in which the FBI and federal officials have received widespread threats of violence due to their investigation into former President Trump. While officials have yet to make a statement regarding the motives of yesterday’s attack, it’s clear that political violence is on the rise.

The January 6th Capitol Insurrection was not a one-off event. It has triggered a predictable pattern of political violence, and it needs to come to an end.

Unfortunately, Trump, The 147, and their allies continue to instigate this sort of political violence by evading justice and spreading rhetoric that is directing their supporters into this type of behavior.
