New Jersey - Today, Congressman Van Drew celebrated a big win for his constituents and all of New Jersey following Governor Murphy finally lifting New Jersey's requirements that teachers, school employees, child-care workers, and state contractors no longer have to go through regular COVID-19 testing as a prerequisite for their employment. This announcement comes after Congressman Van Drew has sent multiple letters urging that these requirements be amended, and ultimately claimed victory after he sent a letter to Governor Murphy demanding that these testing requirements come to an end.
"I am glad that Governor Murphy finally came to his senses and ended this arbitrary COVID-19 testing requirement on New Jersey workers," said Congressman Van Drew. "However, there is still more that needs to be done. COVID-19 testing mandates must end for everyone, including our healthcare workers. There has been enough ostracizing of individuals who have chosen to maintain their right to personal autonomy and these people deserve to earn a living without the state of New Jersey mandating they go through the process of being tested each and every week. New Jersey does not have any mask mandates, there are no travel mandates, and the American people are currently dealing with a Democrat-caused recession. The government should be incentivizing people to return to work, not imposing barriers that works against American small businesses and their employees' livelihoods."
