here in Missouri and polling shows us trailing by only a slim margin in
this battleground race.

The stakes have never been higher. Here in Missouri, abortion is all but
banned outright including in cases of rape or incest.

protect the right to access a safe and legal abortion, pass commonsense
gun safety legislation, act on climate change, defend our right to vote,
and break through the partisan extremism to deliver for working families
everywhere.

But while I’ve spent my career in service to improving the lives and
wellbeing of Missouri families, my conservative opponents Eric Schmitt and
John Wood have done the opposite.

Not only did Schmitt celebrate the overturning of Roe v. Wade, but as
Attorney General he acted immediately in the aftermath of the decision to
ensure our state was the first in the nation to ban abortion. And Wood
worked for Clarence Thomas and agrees with the overturning of Roe.

We cannot allow either opponent to take their extremism to the Senate. If
we win this race, Democrats are practically ensured to defend our
pro-choice majority there and we will be able to [ [link removed] ]block any effort by
Mitch McConnell to move forward with a national abortion ban.
