[1]Beto O'Rourke
The threat we’ve been warning about for months just became
real, John: Greg Abbott is
officially launching his very first statewide TV ad of the general
election.
Here’s what the Dallas Morning News says about Abbott’s big spending: “The
buy costs at least $3 million and is the opening salvo in a media campaign
that could approach $100 million.”
John, we mean it
when we say Abbott’s TV ads are one the biggest threats to our chances of
winning. We urgently need our grassroots supporters to mobilize and help
counter Abbott’s ad spending as soon as possible. It’s especially
important because today’s the last day to reach our $300,000 mid-month
goal.

A lot is happening in this race right now. Beto’s momentum is surging,
bringing him within just a few points of taking the lead. And Abbott has
finally agreed to debate Beto, which will be a pivotal chance to draw the
contrast for Texas voters on the fence between our unifying vision and
Abbott’s extremism.
But we’re in a high-stakes battle for the airwaves. Abbott has already
booked nearly $20 million in ads for the fall and has pledged to spend
$100 million attacking us — and we can’t afford to let him drown Beto
out.
Thousands of your fellow supporters have donated toward our mid-month
goal, but we urgently need your help to close the gap before
midnight, John:

midnight, match Abbott’s $100 million in attacks, and elect Beto as the
next governor of Texas in November?
With gratitude,
Team Beto
