JOIN US IN HONORING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF TALLU SCHUYLER QUINN
Tomorrow morning, Sen. Jeff Yarbro and I will be hosting a special event to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Tallu Schuyler Quinn. All those who wish to join us in honoring this amazing and impactful community leader are welcome to attend.
We will be presenting her family with House Joint Resolution 871 and unveiling the new highway sign issued pursuant to Public Chapter 1009 which designates the bridge on State Route 155 (Briley Parkway) spanning Centennial Boulevard in Nashville, Tennessee as the "Tallu Schuyler Quinn Memorial Bridge."
As section 63 of Public Chapter 1009 states, Sen. Yarbro and I passed this legislation "to honor this incredibly well-respected nonprofit leader, minister, and resident of the City of Nashville who founded the Nashville Food Project, an organization that seeks to bring people together to grow, cook, and share nourishing food, cultivate community, and alleviate hunger, and who, after being diagnosed with glioblastoma, subsequently penned several essays on what it meant to live with a terminal diagnosis and still find meaning, with the collection being titled What We Wish Were True: Reflections on Nurturing Life and Facing Death."
We hope to see you there.
