 Hi John – Kids are going back to school across our state, and now let’s get to work helping them succeed. One of my top commitments has been to make sure every student gets a great education. That’s why my first elected office was serving on the Colorado Board of Education — and it’s why, long before I became Governor, I founded schools for immigrants and homeless youth. I’m proud of our work with the Legislature to support our public education system in the face of today’s challenges. We’ve made an historic investment in our schools to help our students succeed. And we’ve enacted free, full-day kindergarten and (starting in fall of ‘23!) universal preschool to help young families provide their kids with the best education possible. No child should lose out on a great education simply because of their family’s income or what zip code they live in. No parent should have to choose between paying the bills or providing their kid with the quality education they deserve. And no teacher should have to struggle to live in the community where they serve our families.
