Welcome to Monday, August 15th, checkers and backgammons...
The CDC released new COVID-19 guidelines, addressing testing and quarantining in community settings.
The CDC continues to recommend that individuals wear masks indoors in areas with high levels of COVID-19 transmission, including schools. If you are exposed to COVID-19, the CDC recommends you wear a high-quality mask for 10 days and get tested on day 5. Screening testing of asymptomatic people without known exposures is no longer recommended.
These changes shift the responsibilities of limiting the spread of COVID-19 from institutions and more towards individuals. The guidelines also no longer focus on slowing the spread of the virus, and instead on preventing cases of severe illness.
How do you feel about the latest COVID-19 guidelines?
