Henry Giroux:
Fascism is rooted in a kind of anti-intellectualism that's a lot smarter than simply saying somebody is stupid -- that personalizes the problem. It's about an ignorance that's manufactured. It's about a culture that's no longer able to question itself. Anti intellectualism has been weaponized. It's no longer just an attribute. It's a weapon of political power. We're not just talking about a government that wants to put fascism into play. We're talking about a government that wants a legitimate itself through a formative culture of fascism, for which it won't be questioned.
