John, politics keeps surprising us with how bad it can get.

Boris Johnson is our new Prime Minister, a man who has a history of demonising people from the BAME and LGBT+ communities, and who has a reputation for being ill-prepared and for being a liar.

And last night he put together a top team of people who believe in the death penalty, have been sacked for threatening British security and threatening Northern Ireland with food shortages.

What a bunch...

He is gearing up for a general election in the Autumn - and making a calculation that his new right-wing cabinet can win over votes from the extreme right-wing Brexit Party.

But I have hope.

People are joining the Liberal Democrats in their thousands.

They are saying enough is enough, and they are ready to stand up and be counted in the face of these appointments.

And it reminds me, there are more of us than there are of them. The majority of British people did not vote for this Prime Minister, did not vote for this cabinet to run our country, and do not want to leave the EU.

If Johnson is preparing for an election, we have news for him.

So are we.

We are ready for the fight of our lives. Ready for a fight to save our country.
