On Friday in Congress, I voted against this $433 billion version of Build Back Better, which is poorly titled the "Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).” The IRA creates new taxes, new ‘Environmental Justice Grants’, offers tax credits for green initiatives and big business, implements price controls on medicine, and gives the IRS $80 billion. Spending this amount of money will NEVER reduce inflation, and the worst part is the Democrats are using your tax dollars to pretend they are solving the problem. 

When we take control of the House next year, I'll be sure to lead oversight of wasteful spending, and we will really see how the U.S. economy fares.

GAETZ OFFICE WIN: $130K PAYMENT TO VETERAN 

My office was contacted by a decorated 16-year Naval officer who was involuntarily separated. Upon separation, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) and the Department of the Navy could not figure out who had the authority to release her severance pay. It is tragic when agencies do not talk to each other and our service members, who dedicate their lives to our great nation, end up being the ones who suffer. After months of working on behalf of this veteran, my district office was able to secure more than $130,000 owed to this Naval officer. I will continue to fight against any injustice that harms our military servicemembers!

I'm excited to share that Okaloosa Stemm Center in Valparaiso, Florida, was recently ranked the #1 middle school in Florida for 2021 by U.S. News and World Report. This magnet school hosts some of Florida's brightest minds, and I am delighted to hear that Northwest Florida is producing America's best!

Last week, I attended and spoke at CPAC Texas 2022 and laid out how we will stand up to the Democrat Party and the Biden Administration once we reclaim Congress. We've seen Steve Bannon prosecuted, Donald Trump persecuted, we have seen our fellow Americans deprived of their liberties and used as political pawns in the D.C. Gulag. But you know what, the season is changing. Fall will be here soon. And winter is coming. When we get power, every committee becomes an oversight committee, every corrupt deal that they've put together, we will expose, and we will restore the great promise of this country. Before taking the stage at CPAC, I spoke with Steve Bannon on War Room about what the Republican Party's strategy needs to be when we regain control of Congress in November. Republican leaders cannot stand for the swamp, the establishment, and the permanent bureaucratic state. Lawmakers must continue searching to find the truth, including exposing the origins of the China Virus and Hunter Biden's foreign business deals.
