Friend, for my family, there are always two guarantees.
Growing up in Snow Hill, my great grandma would take me to the early Sunday morning Presbyterian church service and the Baptist church by noon. That’s where I learned the meaning of community and what it means to love your neighbors unconditionally. Now, I minister at the same Presbyterian church I prayed in with her as a child. My family didn’t always have it easy, but we always looked out for each other. When my mom became pregnant with me, my grandma stepped in to raise me, insisting my mother continue her education. For too long, big city politicians have forgotten about us in eastern North Carolina, so we’ve had to look out for each other. I’m running so we can have a voice in Congress — someone who knows our farmers need support, that our schools need resources, and that rural internet can’t wait. If you’re able, can you please make a contribution to ensure my team has the resources to reach the voters we need this November? I wouldn’t ask this of my community if it wasn’t necessary for our journey to Congress.
I will never stop fighting for our rural communities and delivering results for our families. In the State Senate, I’ve worked with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to expand high-speed internet, raise teacher pay, and improve access to quality health care. In Congress, I promise to serve the hard-working people of eastern North Carolina as well as they have helped me. I am ready to keep serving our excellent state, but I need your help.
