Voting NO on the Democrats' Far-Left Agenda

On Friday, House Democrats forced through their partisan and reckless reconciliation bill. While Congressional Democrats claim it will help address inflation, this legislation will instead raises taxes on millions of Americans, empower the IRS to hire 87,000 new agents, implement socialist price control schemes, and also spend over $350 billion on Green New Deal priorities. But that’s not all. Despite the devastating impact these taxes could have on those already suffering, Democrats want more. Rep. Richard Neal, Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, has assured the American people that if Democrats keep the House majority next year, they plan to raise taxes even higher. Simply unbelievable.

Democrats Are Weaponizing the IRS

In addition to raising taxes and spending hundreds of billion on Green New Deal priorities, the House Democrats' reckless tax-and-spending bill they rammed through last Friday also includes $80 billion to allow the IRS to hire 87,000 new agents. As this story from the Washington Free Beacon details, this is more staff than the Pentagon, State Department, Border Patrol, and the FBI combined. What will these new agents be used for? To increase audits on American families and businesses. In fact—according to an analysis from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office—at least $20 billion of the revenue Democrats hope to collect from taxpayers with this new IRS funding would come from lower- and middle-income earners and small businesses. 

Hearing From You in the Tenth District

I always am thankful for the chance to spend time talking to folks here at home about the issues that are most important to them. Recently, the Iredell County Farm Bureau hosted a roundtable discussion on issues that are impacting the agriculture community. I am grateful for the farmers in the Tenth District that work to put food on our table and I appreciate those that joined to share their thoughts.

Afterwards, it was great to get a tour of Fifth Street Ministries and hear about the tremendous impact they are having in Statesville. Thanks to Executive Director Michele Knapp, Mayor Costi Kutteh, and all the volunteers, advocates, and community partners that gathered to share their perspective. Thank you for your efforts to better the lives of those in need. Our first responders are on the front lines of keeping our communities safe. In Iredell County the men and women at the Iredell County Public Safety Complex and in the 911 Call Center are no exception. Thanks to 911 Director Candy Miller for hosting me for a visit. I am grateful for these men and women that are helping save lives every day.

It is unbelievable that the FBI would raid President Trump’s home in Florida—the first time a former President has ever been subjected to such treatment. What makes it all the more shocking was the lack of transparency from both the DOJ and the FBI about the rationale behind this raid and exactly what was seized. While some questions have been answered, many more remain and House Republicans are committed to getting answers.
