He put the big pharmaceutical companies funding his campaign over the well-being of his constituents.

John, yesterday the House passed the Lower Drug Costs Now Act -- a bipartisan bill that will lower prescription drug costs by allowing Medicare to negotiate directly with pharmaceutical companies that have, for years, hiked up prices at the expense of the American people.

But David Schweikert voted "NO," siding with Big Pharma over his constituents.

Schweikert has yet again shown why we need to replace him in 2020. Will you rush $10 or more to help us defeat him? Our grassroots campaign needs 118 more donations by our mid-month deadline on Sunday to stay on pace for the end of the year.

As a former ER physician, I’ve seen firsthand what happens when people can’t afford their prescription drugs and end up in the hospital as a result, with complications that could have been avoided. I talk to people with diabetes who are rationing the insulin they need to survive, seniors who can’t put food on the table because they need to buy their heart meds, and young families who are drowning in debt from their children’s seizure or asthma meds.

The Lower Drug Costs Now Act is a big step in the right direction: It would benefit over 678,500 residents of Arizona's 6th congressional district who are enrolled in either a Medicare Part D or private health insurance plan, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. The CBO estimates it would save a family of four approximately $1920 per year.

So why did David Schweikert vote against this bill? It might have something to do with the fact that he's taken over $30,000 in campaign donations from pharmaceutical companies and recklessly voted to hand out a massive corporate tax cut that saved these pharmaceutical companies billions of dollars.

It’s time we had a leader who will vote to actually help the Arizona families they were elected to serve, instead of appeasing their special interest donors. I am not taking a dime of corporate PAC money, and I will be accountable to no one but the people of AZ-06.

Today was just one more example of how Schweikert has sold out Arizona families. Our families’ health and well-being are on the line, and we deserve better.

I humbly ask that you stand with me and pitch in. There’s so much at stake. We've outraised Schweikert this whole year thanks to grassroots supporters like you. Let's keep it up!

Thank you,

Hiral
