“Russian National Charged With Spreading Propaganda Through U.S. Groups”

-New York Times

John,

Every day, we’re confronted with relentless attempts by hostile actors to undermine our democracy.

Last month, we learned about the efforts of a Russian informant to use American political groups to spread Russian propaganda and interfere with US elections. We’ve seen this type of interference before. By using online channels to spread false stories, hostile actors are able to encourage social divisions and foment public discord.

As Russia wages a global disinformation campaign to discredit democracies around the world, we must remain vigilant. The George Washington Initiative was founded precisely to target Dis and Misinformation at the heart of the rise of public distrust. Join me in getting to the root of DisMis by contributing $10 or whatever you can to our program.
