As the NDRC’s finance director, it’s my job to set budgets for each bucket of our work. But here’s the problem: If we don’t hit our fundraising goals, I have to tell certain teams that I just can’t give them what they need.
It’s the worst part of my job – especially when everything the NDRC does is so important. Should I take money away from our work to defend and expand voting rights? To support Democratic candidates in must-win races? To help protect election administration and infrastructure? Those are the kinds of choices I might have to make if we don’t hit our monthly goal.
But you can help – it’s really easy. Just send in a donation before tomorrow’s mid-month deadline and it’ll be immediately counted toward our August goal!
