Janet Mills here, Governor of the great state of Maine. This year there are 36 gubernatorial races nationwide and the stakes could not be higher.

From reproductive rights to voting rights, the GOP is attacking our basic freedoms at every turn – and Democratic governors are our last line of defense.

Let me make one thing clear: So long as I am governor here in Maine, I will stand in the way of any effort to undermine our rights, and I’m not alone.

My fellow Democratic governors across the country are working to keep abortion safe and legal and expand access to the ballot. And Democratic champions like Stacey Abrams and Katie Hobbs are running to flip key red states blue. But far-right extremists are going to throw everything they have at us. We can’t win this fight without you.

With so much on the line, I need your help today: Can you split a $3 donation between my campaign and the Democratic Governors Association before tomorrow at midnight? Each gift to the DGA will be DOUBLED up to their $50,000 goal before midnight tomorrow.

Team – over the past almost four years, I’ve worked hard to move Maine forward. I’ve expanded health care, invested in public education, fought climate change, protected our lands and waters, and achieved some of the best results in the nation when it comes to turning back the pandemic and recovering our economy.

But if my far-right opponent, Paul LePage, is elected, he’ll take us backwards. And without the protection of Roe, abortion rights are on the ballot this November.

I’m doing everything I can to beat him, but I won’t mince words: I’m facing an uphill battle, and I’m not the only one.

Republicans are doing everything they can to undo the progress we’ve made across the country. They’re doubling down their attacks in swing states like Maine, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania and spending millions to defeat us.

The DGA’s sole focus is backing Democrats running to unseat GOP governors and reelecting Democratic governors like me across America. By splitting a donation between my campaign and the DGA today, you’ll be making a direct impact not just in Maine, but in battleground states from Georgia to Michigan to Pennsylvania.
