As we get closer and closer to 2020 we’re seeing plenty of “Top 10” lists pop up. And while it’s fun to argue over the top ten songs of the year or which movies deserve the most praise, I want to take a minute to focus on a different Top 10 entirely: The Top 10 Accomplishments House Democrats made this year.
Trump and McConnell love to claim that Democrats are only focused on impeachment, but the reality is we’ve passed almost 400 bills this year alone. In no particular order, here’s my top ten list for ways that Democrats are making life better for the American people:
1) Protected healthcare for millions of Americans
2) Extended civil rights protections for the LGBTQ+ community
3) Passed a bill to finally close the gender pay gap
4) Reformed a broken campaign finance system
5) Protected your vote at the ballot box
6) Took the first action on gun safety in years
7) Reauthorized the Violence Against Women Act
8) Protected the environment from the Trump administration's ceaseless attacks
9) Fought to keep DACA and TPS recipients in the country
10) Held Trump accountable
It’s time to get McConnell out of the Senate and Trump out of the White House so we can move forward on all these issues. If you’re ready to continue the fight, will you chip in $20.20 today?
