The bill will lower costs for families at the pharmacy, at the gas pump, and on their monthly energy bills and insurance premiums.

The passage of the Inflation Reduction Act was a victory for Coloradans and the American people over corporate special interests and the status quo.

So, of course Michael’s opponent — who bankrolled almost half of his campaign’s funds and took a check from the Koch brothers' corporate PAC — came out against the bill.

Joe O'dea for Colorado
O'Dea criticizes Senate passage of "Build Back Tax" reconciliation bill

Here’s what Joe O’Dea would have voted against if he was in the Senate:

  • Lowering prescription drug and health care costs by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices and capping prescription drug costs for seniors at $2,000 a year. One Coloradan with a heart condition pays $6,000 a month for medication — that’s $72,000 a year for something he needs to take for the rest of his life. That’s outrageous and ends with this bill.
  • Building a fairer tax code by making sure the ~200 biggest corporations that report over $1 billion in profit pay their fair share based on a bill Michael helped write. Colorado teachers, firefighters. and police officers shouldn’t be paying more in taxes than Amazon, and Joe O’Dea's opposition shows he disagrees.
  • Making a historic investment in climate and clean energy that will boost American manufacturing for wind, solar, and batteries to power electric vehicles and our energy grid. When you put it all together, this bill will put us on track to reduce emissions by 40% by the end of the decade.

This bill will lower costs for families at the pharmacy, at the gas pump, and on their monthly energy bills and health insurance premiums. But Michael’s MAGA opponent will put Mitch McConnell’s partisan interests before the needs of Colorado’s families.

Michael doesn’t take a cent from corporate PACs or federal lobbyists, so we’re facing the National GOP fundraising machine and his self-funding opponent with the support of grassroots donors.

Pitch in $10 before our mid-month fundraising deadline tomorrow to defend Michael’s seat in the Senate so he can keep fighting for Colorado and families nationwide. His seat is one of the top 10 Senate seats most likely to flip, so every dollar makes a difference.
