With so many critical issues facing our community and our country, our next Member of Congress should be someone with the right experience, who gets results when it matters most. That public servant is Democrat Catherine Parker. Catherine has delivered for us here at home time and again. Now, let’s elect her to Congress so we can get the job done.
Washington Has Failed Us on Women’s Rights
As a pro-choice woman Catherine co-sponsored and helped to pass the Clinic Access bill to ensure a woman’s right to reproductive healthcare in Westchester County, in addition to co-sponsoring laws creating paid sick leave and banning employers from asking about salary history.
Congress Hasn’t Done Enough To Stem Gun Violence
Catherine passed legislation pushing for New York’s red flag law, banning gun shows at the County Center, and voted in favor of the Firearms Warning Labels bill. She also supported the creation of a Mental Health Task Force to go out
on calls with local law enforcement.
Federal Action on Climate Change Must Continue
While in a Democratic minority, Catherine helped create and fund the County Office of Sustainability. She has a fifteen-year record of advocating and funding flood mitigation infrastructure and supported legislation to shift to renewable energy for Westchester County and its residents. She supports a Green New Deal and the Inflation Reduction Act.
