Are you paying attention, John? Some Republicans are planning some scary stuff for November. And it could be a TEST RUN for the next presidential election!
But if they think we’re going to roll over and let them get away with it, they’re wrong: The NDRC is launching a NEW three-pronged strategy to safeguard our democracy, beginning this election year and continuing for as long as it takes.
#1: Elect pro-democracy candidates into office
You already know about our work to elect Democracy Defenders who could be the last line of defense against the destruction of our democracy.
#2: Preserve and expand access to voting
As state legislatures try to curtail voting all over the country – and the Supreme Court lets them – a new push on voting freedom couldn’t be more urgent.
#3: Protect election infrastructure and administration
This means ensuring election deniers are unsuccessful in their efforts to corrupt the pool of election workers and infiltrate election administration from the inside.
Look, we know you get a lot of emails that tell you "The situation is dire!!!" But this situation IS dire. Our democracy is on life support – and if enough people don’t DO SOMETHING about it, we could lose it for good.
It’s not hyperbole to say that 2022 could be our last chance. Please, will you dig deep and chip in to help us STOP democracy-destroying election deniers and vote suppressors?
