What were doing on knife crime is working, says council leader after 18% fall in incidents

People in Nottinghamshire are now less likely to be affected by knife crime than in most places across the country, new figures have revealed.

The number of offences per 1,000 of the population dropped below the national and regional average for the first time in over ten years in June 2019, it was announced at Nottinghamshires Violence Reduction Unit board meeting today (Friday 13 December).

Property company fined for failing to licence homes

A property services company in Nottingham has been ordered to pay over 7,000 for failing to licence six properties.

During sentencing on Wednesday (11/12/2019) Nottingham Magistrates Court ordered Bramley Apple Properties Ltd, trading as Jillings Estates, ofThe Corner House, King Street, Southwell, to pay a fine and legal costs totalling 7349.

Nottingham City Council prosecuted the company for failing to licence a number of properties within their management control. The company pleaded guilty to the offences in court on 5 November 2019

Two plead guilty to Housing Act offences

A Nottingham Landlord and his property manager have pleaded guilty to numerous offences relating to Housing Act Offences.

Azam and Sons Property Limited, its Director Yusif McCallum and the Property Manager Nottingham HMO Ltd appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court.

Nottingham City Councils Safer Housing and Trading Standards Teams are jointly prosecuting them under the Housing Act 2004 and Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations (CPRs) related to the failure to manage the property legally and keep it in repair.

New one stop shop Customer Hub to open in January

A new Customer Hub will open at Nottingham City Councils Loxley House on Trent Street in January, putting citizen focused services in one location to better support the general public.

Nottingham Revenues and Benefits service, which provides support for Housing Benefit and Council Tax services, currently based at the Contact Centre at Nottingham Central Library on Angel Row, and Housing Aid, based on Lower Parliament Street, will move in to a redeveloped ground floor area to join Jobcentre Plus and Nottingham Futures.

Nottingham creatives to help bring citys rebellious past to life

A local company has been chosen to create a series of animated films to be played in the new Rebellion Gallery at Nottingham Castle.

Bottletop, which is based within the Antenna Media Centre in Beck Street, saw off significant competition from across the country to land the contract at the iconic tourist attraction, which is currently undergoing a major refurbishment.
