This is Lauren Groh-Wargo, Stacey Abrams’ campaign manager.
On Tuesday night, Stacey outlined her economic platform and policy plans for Georgians across our state, showing us how she’ll lead if elected governor.
Free technical college, pay raises for teachers, Medicaid expansion, building infrastructure and providing support for entrepreneurs and small businesses. All of this without a single cent raised in taxes — using our historic $5 billion budget surplus.
But I’ll give it to you straight: we’re in the fight of our lives right now. We’re up against an incumbent governor who has shown time and again he will wield the power of his office to advance voter suppression bills to help him hold on to power and damage our democracy.
“Our state thrives when opportunity is available for everyone.”
This is Stacey’s vision. This is the vision of a true leader. This is a vision Brian Kemp will never support.
Because Brian Kemp only cares about helping out his rich friends while making life harder for everyday Georgians.
He rolled back restrictions for weapons to be carried into public spaces like schools, instead of providing schools with more funding and teachers with higher salaries.
He has supported a 2021 law after Democrats won the runoffs that tries to disenfranchise voters of color because he knows in a fair fight, he would lose.
He has continually put money meant for rural revitalization in the pockets of his rich friends.
As Stacey told us Tuesday night: We are entitled to more. Our taxes have paid for more. And now it's time to get our money's worth. And we are pushing back with all our might against voter suppression.
And with Stacey as governor, Georgia Thrives.
But we can’t get there without you, plain and simple.
Let’s do this!
