This Week at the NYGOP

Early voting for the August 23rd federal and state senate primary and special congressional elections starts TODAY and goes until August 21st. You can look up Early Vote times and locations by clicking here.

It is absolutely critical that every Republican turns out on or before August 23rd, especially for our congressional special elections in NY-19 and NY-23, which will put us closer to firing Nancy Pelosi once and for all! The road to a Republican majority in the House goes right through New York. Remember to vote for Marc Molinaro if you live in NY-19 and Joe Sempolinski if you live in NY-23. Please call, text, or email 10 friends to remind them as well. The Red Wave is coming but we all have to do our part to help build its strength.

Speaking of red waves, another strong poll was released this week showing Lee Zeldin is closing in fast on Kathy Hochul, who is hemorrhaging support at a record pace. Despite spending $26 million dollars to bolster her image during the primary, New Yorkers are still looking for change. Our NYGOP message is resonating because New Yorkers are SICK of the radical left agenda brought to you by one-party Democrat leadership in Albany.

The encouraging news didn't stop there. The same poll also had great news for Joe Pinion, our candidate for U.S. Senate against Chuck Schumer. A majority of voters would rather vote for anyone else than vote to re-elect Schumer. Joe Pinion is working hard to build his name ID to let voters know that there is an alternative. Democrats are terrified of him because he represents everything they hate. Joe is a living product of the American Dream and he's sharing his message about the lies and failures of Chuck Schumer and the Democrat Party.

Both our candidates for Attorney General, Michael Henry, and Comptroller, Paul Rodriguez, have been making the rounds across New York and in the press, holding Tish James and Tom DiNapoli's feet to the fire for being totally complicit in the Cuomo/Hochul corruption machine. They have turned a blind eye to their fellow Democrats' corruption and it's time for them to pay the price this November.

I am an advocate, a public servant, but most importantly: I am a mother. I have five beautiful boys and am very proud to have grown my family here in Central New York. I currently serve as County Legislator to the 6th Legislative District in Onondaga County, representing the towns of Camillus, Marcellus, Otisco, Skaneateles, and Spafford. Lee Zeldin in striking distance of Kathy Hochul, voters tired of Chuck Schumer: poll

President Biden’s popularity is sagging even further in blue-leaning New York, according to a new poll that also has Republican Lee Zeldin in striking distance of Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul. The same survey shows more voters prefer someone else to re-electing Democratic incumbent Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. The survey of 600 likely voters conducted from Aug. 7-9 and commissioned by GOP businessman John Jordan and consultant Dick Morris shows that just 44% approve of Biden’s performance and 52% disapprove of the president in the Democrat-heavy state. In the governor’s race, Hochul received support of 48% of likely voters to 40% for Zeldin — a lead that is about half of what public polls released last week by Siena and Emerson colleges found. Schumer, the powerful majority leader first elected statewide in 1998, is up for re-election this year. He faces off against Republican nominee Joe Pinion.

Zeldin Blames 'Pro-Criminal Push' For Fueling Crime Spike

Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y. — who’s running for New York governor — on Sunday blamed the state’s crime spike on a political “pro-criminal push” and bail reform laws. In an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Zeldin decried the crime increase — and the policies that helped fuel it. “The pro-criminal push with the laws has been a key impact,” Zeldin said. “Then it's compounded when you have district attorneys like the Manhattan [District Attorney] Alvin Bragg refusing to enforce laws across the board,” he charged. “And you also have some judges who are far left and lax where they're releasing people even when they do have the discretion” to order jail time. Zeldin pointed to his own harrowing brush with a man who tried to assault him during a campaign event in July.

Inflation weighs on back-to-school buying for many families

Spending held steady for these evergreen items even after the Kent, Washington-based business was forced to pass along 15% price increases in January to its retail clients because of soaring transportation costs. But by May, as gas and food prices also surged, shoppers abruptly shifted away from the $35 higher-end rain boots to the no-frills versions that run $5 to $10 cheaper, its CEO Karl Moehring said. “We are seeing consumers shift down,” said Moehring, noting dramatic 20% sales swings in opposite directions for both types of products. “Wages are not keeping up with inflation.” This back-to-school shopping season, parents — particularly in the low to middle income bracket — are focusing on the basics while also trading down to cheaper stores amid surging inflation, which hit a new 40-year high in June.

Bo Dietl, Curtis Sliwa join Lee Zeldin in bashing Kathy Hochul over bail reform

Former mayoral candidates Bo Dietl and Curtis Sliwa on Wednesday joined Republican gubernatorial nominee Rep. Lee Zeldin in bashing Gov. Kathy Hochul for not repealing bail reform ahead of the Nov. 8 election. “If he doesn’t become the governor, I’m moving to Florida because I’m sick and tired of this governor and the state with these liberal values,” Dietl, a former cop and longtime conservative firebrand who came in sixth in the 2014 race for mayor, said at a Manhattan press conference where he endorsed Zeldin for governor. New data from the NYPD shows major crimes increasing by 36% – with a decrease last month in murders and shootings – compared to last year. “Do you want people who have no idea what’s going on in New York City – who’ve barely been in New York City – who would be lost without the state troopers and GPS? Or do you want a man and a woman who have been born and raised in our area?” Guardian Angels founder and radio host Sliwa said while bashing the Buffalo-bred Hochul on behalf of Zeldin and his running mate Alison Esposito, a former NYPD deputy inspector.
