American Patriot,


While attending Airborne School, our nation was attacked on 9/11. This harsh
reality, coupled with hearing stories about Special Forces soldiers who were on
the forward edge of the War on Terror, inspired me to attend Special Forces
Assessment and Selection.



I’m Green Beret Jay Collins, and I’ve led Americans into battle on some of the
most demanding missions in the War on Terror.



But my call to serve did not stop on the battlefield. I’ve faced our toughest
enemies in combat, and now I am ready to bring that fighting spirit to the
political arena. I’ve never been one to shy away from a fight, but these are
unchartered waters for me and having your support would mean the world.

As a Green Beret, I deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, and twice to South America.
In my 2007 Afghanistan deployment, I was hit in the arm, continued fighting,
and later helped perform surgery on myself in the field of battle. Staying in
the country, I returned to full combat operations after just 30 days of
recovery.

Soon after, I was critically injured again, and would eventually lose my leg.
Following my amputation, I returned to active duty and continued to serve for

If there is one thing that I’ve learned throughout my career, it is that
leadership comes at a cost, and that cost is self-interest.
