John –

I penned an article for syracuse.com about the role that dark money plays in our politics and how it is impacting this race. You can check it out here.

At the most recent Democratic candidate forum in Utica, the moderator asked me what the most immediate issue is for when I get to Congress. I answered without hesitation, campaign finance reform.

When dark money groups and billionaire-funded super PACs are allowed to give enormous amounts of money to candidates to help them win races, it weakens the voice of the people, endangers our democracy, and opens the door to serious corruption. The only way to restore our faith in democracy and solve the systemic issues we face is to rebuild an even playing field.

In this race in NY-22, crypto billionaires have spent $400,000 in support of my opponent, Francis Conole. That has a very real impact and tips the scale against the people of New York.

Billionaires think they can buy this seat in Congress. I need you now, in these last hours before the primary, to show them that they cannot. Rush in a $25 donation now and fight for a healthy democracy!

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

I want to live in an America where everyone’s voice counts the same amount. Together we can restore and improve our democracy and end the corruption of billionaires and special interest groups funded by multinational corporations.

I am a progressive. I am running because I think the government should work for people, not just the rich. It's time to end the elitism of Washington and send real working people to Congress to fight for what Americans need. We can take back our government and build something better, but only if we work together. Take action now!! → →

Solidarity forever,

Sarah
