I had to reach back out to make sure you saw my message, Friend.

It's official: My newly-minted GOP primary opponent is a radical, Trump-anointed, far-right extremist who opposes both a woman's right to make her own healthcare decisions and commonsense gun safety measures. To boot, she thinks the Jan. 6 insurrection was "legitimate political discourse."

In short, Friend, she'd be a rubber stamp for Mitch McConnell and his backward agenda. We cannot afford to send someone like her to the Senate.

So please, with the primary behind us, this is too important to wait: Before our crucial midnight fundraising deadline, will you chip in $5 or more to become a Founding Donor to our general election campaign, defend this Democratic seat, and protect our razor-thin Senate majority?

Thanks for pitching in at this pivotal moment,

Subject: It's official: I'm up against a radical GOP opponent in the general election

With less than 100 days to go before Election Day, the stakes of our Senate race here in Connecticut just got even higher, Friend.

The primary results are in, and I'm officially facing off against Trump's hand-picked candidate in the general election – a radical Republican who will be nothing but a rubber stamp on Mitch McConnell's disastrous agenda. She opposes a woman's right to make her own healthcare decisions. She opposes common sense gun safety measures. And she supports calling January 6th "legitimate political discourse."

If my opponent flips this seat red in November, Republicans will regain the Senate majority. It's as simple as that. And there's no question that her first official act as Connecticut's senator will be reinstalling Mitch McConnell as majority leader.

A Republican majority with McConnell at the helm would be an absolute nightmare for our country. We already know the kinds of dangerous policies that would follow: A national abortion ban. Relentless attacks on voting rights, women, contraception, and the LGBTQ community. Obstruction of any attempts to make progress protecting our planet – even as we live through a summer of unprecedented floods, drought, and unusual forest fires.

Simply put, the GOP would block any of President Biden's attempts to make progress for the American people. McConnell has promised he will block all nominations. There goes legislation. Judges. Everything. Period.

That's why, as we head into the most pivotal weeks of this campaign, I'm personally asking for your help. We need to raise $15,000 by midnight to ensure I have the resources to take on my radical GOP opponent in the general election and defend this critical seat.

We don't have time on our side, Friend, so I'm counting on you to step up right away: Please, before our midnight fundraising deadline, will you donate $5 or more to keep this seat blue and protect our Democratic Senate majority? Every dollar makes a difference as we work to bolster our campaign operations heading into the general election fight.
