Abortions are now restricted or banned in every state touching Illinois — including Indiana, which was the first state to almost completely ban abortions following SCOTUS' decision to overturn Roe.

When the Dobbs decision was leaked, I promised that Chicago would be an oasis for abortion rights.

That wasn't just talk. Since then, I've authorized an additional $500,000 to cover the cost of travel, lodging, and abortion access. I've also signed an Executive Order that prohibits all city agencies from investigating any cases of out-of-staters seeking abortions in Illinois.

We're just getting started. Under my leadership, Chicago will remain a safe haven for reproductive freedom for ALL.
