John,
It’s no secret Michelle Steel is an anti-choice extremist.
That's landed her in the hot seat recently, so now she’s trying to walk back her radical stance in public. But in a recent interview with the National Journal, Steel forgot her talking points and had to be reminded by a staffer. It's embarrassing and really sheds light on how far gone Steel is:
___________________
Michelle Steel: “My record is very, very clear. I am pro-life, exception of three things: the mother's health, and what is that? The other one? The—”
She paused.
“Rape and incest,” her spokesman chimed in.
Michelle Steel: “Yeah, yeah. Yeah, those three.”

How someone can forget “rape and incest” is beyond us, and it is clear these are late additions to a new platform she's not used to. If her voting record is any indication, she could care less about any of these exceptions.
Steel co-signed a letter alongside extremists in Congress asking SCOTUS to overturn Roe v. Wade. She also voted against access to contraception and traveling out-of-state to seek abortion care. That has earned her an “A+” and big checks from groups like the anti-choice Susan B. Anthony List.
The only thing that’s very, very, very clear is that Steel is hell-bent on taking away reproductive freedoms. She will undoubtedly vote for a nationwide ban if given the chance. It's our job to stop that:
With reproductive rights on the line, we can't risk giving Steel another term in Congress. The good news is Jay Chen has a strong chance of ousting her in November, but it depends on your support: Will you chip in $3 to make sure we have the resources to flip this swing district?
