In 2020, Matt won the race for Pennsylvania's 8th District by just three points. He was one of only seven Democrats to win in a congressional district that voted for Donald Trump.

Now, he's running for re-election again, and he has his toughest fight yet ahead of him.

Election experts are calling this race a "toss up," and Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight even listed PA-08 as the most competitive House race in the country. National Republicans take this as a sign they can defeat Matt, and they're ready to do – and spend – whatever it takes to win.

With less than three months until Election Day, this race is heating up. A GOP dark money group announced they're spending $450,000 on ads attacking Matt. That's on top of the $2.7 million national Republicans have already announced they're spending to flip this seat red.
