We fund voter protection John, The attacks on our democracy do not relent. According to the latest reporting, “Florida voters face new hurdles due to ID requirements. As Florida’s August 23rd primary approaches, many voters are receiving a surprise request from their supervisor of elections to update their registration files with their driver’s license or Social Security number.” Republicans tout requirements like these as measures that will support election integrity. But in reality, they just make it much harder for voters to cast their ballots. We saw how a similar law impacted voters in Texas in March, and we know what’s coming. It makes the process confusing and inaccessible, which was an extreme deterrent for many voters. And it doesn’t make our elections fairer. Here’s what does make our elections fairer: Year-round, grassroots voter protection on the ground. Power the Vote has developed a groundbreaking voter protection strategy and we are doing everything we can to implement it all across the country. We need to stand up to discriminatory voter ID laws and voter suppression tactics. And John, we need to do everything we can to defend voting rights — this year and every year. This is why we are funding voter protection staff in battleground states -- including in Florida -- to help fight for voters. So please, rush a donation to Power the Vote today to help us execute our voter protection plan.
Thank you, Power the Vote
