John,

I’m thrilled to report that yesterday, House Democrats successfully passed the Inflation Reduction Act, a massive legislative package that will:

- Cut costs for consumers and working families while making the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share through a minimum 15% tax rate;
- Lower health insurance costs for 13 million people and finally allow Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices;
- Make the biggest investment in addressing climate change in U.S. history, which will create 9 million new clean energy jobs, reduce utility costs, and cut emissions by 40 percent!

This is a major accomplishment for Democrats in the House and Senate as well as President Biden, who will sign the bill into law next week. But sadly, it passed along party lines — meaning every single Republican, including Yvette Herrell, voted against it.

Democrats are getting things done for the people they were elected to serve, while Herrell refuses to put partisan political games aside in order to do what’s best for New Mexicans. By opposing this bill, she and every Republican voted in favor of corporations, polluters, and Big Pharma, instead of the people.

Let’s give NM-02 a representative who will support more bills like this one and actually work to make progress for our communities: pitch in $10 or more to help me replace far-right Herrell and flip this toss-up seat blue this November!

The Inflation Reduction Act is a massive first step in addressing some of the biggest issues facing us. I can’t wait to win in November and fight for even more progress in Congress.
