Change continues to come to the Secular Coalition for America! This coming week, we welcome Steven Emmert on as our new Executive Director. He comes to us from Us Helping Us, an organization dedicated to HIV prevention and care, where he served as the Deputy Executive Director. With decades of experience working for Planned Parenthood and the National Coalition of Abortion Providers, we're certain his unique perspective will drive positive secular action.
After serving on the SCA Board for over six years, Bob Kresek has decided to step down from the Secular Coalition for America Board (c4) and the Secular Coalition for America Education Fund Board (c3). With a new ED, he sees this as a good opportunity to let our newer Board members lead the future growth of the organization. The Board has thanked Bob for his service, designated him President Emeritus, and has asked him to continue to serve as a member of our Advisory Board.
As the national secular community grows, we find more people looking for ways to be involved and stand up against Christian nationalism; the SCA and our partners are ready to help with over 800 local affiliate groups throughout the coalition. There are twenty organizations ([link removed]) that make up the coalition and each is a unique and integral part of the larger American secular community. The Secular Coalition for America is proud to advocate on their behalf here in our nation's capital. Read on to learn about some of the important work being one!

Looking for ways to help? You can take action quickly and easily!
Join SCA ([link removed]) in calling for equal marriage protections by asking your legislators to support the Respect for Marriage Act ([link removed]) .
With Justice Thomas's assertion that cases like Obergefell should be reconsidered, it is time for Congress to take action to protect the marriages of adult Americans regardless of their gender. We cannot allow religious extremists to undo the progress that was so hard-won.
Our member organizations are critical partners in the Secular Coalition for America ([link removed]) 's ([link removed]) (SCA) mission to advocate for the equal rights of nonreligious Americans and defend the separation of religion and government. SCA is grateful to have the support of our member organizations, including the Freedom From Religion Foundation, American Humanist Association, American Ethical Union, Center for Inquiry, Secular Student Alliance, Black Nonbelievers, Hispanic American Freethinkers, Society for Humanistic Judaism, and Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers, which are out there every day building community and proving that secular values are American values. You can make a donation ([link removed]) to help our mission succeed.
