Meet Addison: Addison was diagnosed with autism in July of 2021. She's
nonverbal, and has developmental delays and feeding difficulties. She
did not start walking until she was almost 22 months. With therapies
including speech, occupational and physical therapy, the little
fighter in her pushed past these obstacles and is making amazing
progress.
Addison, and the millions of children like her, are 'Why We Walk'.
Their names and stories may differ but their opportunity to do and be
so much more is the same. Together, we can help these children reach
their full potential.
The best part about participating in an event like the Walk and
raising awareness is getting your community to take action. And one of
the best ways to do that is to start a fundraising campaign and share
your story - post it on Facebook, use Instagram, be creative
with a video, start a Facebook fundraiser and then ask your friends
and family to help you create a more inclusive world for people with
autism. You'll be amazed at the response!
With you by our side, I know we will continue to make a meaningful
difference for everyone impacted by autism. Please join us today!
