I’ve said it before, John, but it's worth repeating: Serving New Hampshire as a State Senator, Governor, and now U.S. Senator has been the honor of a lifetime.

But unfortunately, to win re-election and keep delivering results on the issues that matter most, I have to face down millions of dollars in negative ads, raise money to fight back, and write these emails.

Republicans are spending more than $25 million on negative ads to defeat me. In order to stand up to their attacks on the airwaves and continue delivering for New Hampshire on the most pressing issues, I need every resource possible. And I rely on the donations from grassroots donors like you in emails like this one to get those resources in the door. So today, I’m asking you to chip in $3, or whatever you can, to help us run the strongest campaign possible.

To be frank – Democrats will lose the Senate again if Republicans win New Hampshire.

I know we can win, but we’re going to have to fight for every single vote and stand against every dollar of GOP dark money. So while asking for money is far from the most rewarding part of my job – and it certainly isn’t my favorite – it's absolutely necessary, John. 

So before I go, I need to ask once more: Can you please chip in $3 to help us win in November and protect our Democratic Senate majority? Any amount is sincerely appreciated.
