I just got an email I had to read twice before I could even believe it was real.

A so-called “reporter” from Fox News just reached out for comment, because apparently Chuck Grassley and the Republicans are pushing a story about Mike Franken’s special needs daughter.

The story isn’t about how Mike and his wife fostered her. It’s not about how they decided to adopt her. It’s not even about how Mike missed her first steps because he was serving our country in uniform. Nope...

It’s a hit piece. Fox “News” and Chuck Grassley are actually ATTACKING Mike for having a special needs daughter. I’m sorry, but I don’t care if you call yourself a reporter or not. That’s not an email that I will ever dignify with a response.

These are the kinds of lows the Republicans are stooping to to try to attack Mike. They’ve attacked his military service, made up lies about him, and now they’re going to attack him for having a special needs daughter?

I’m ready to fight back, and I know Mike is too – but we can only call out Chuck Grassley for this heinous attack if grassroots donors like you chip in again now.

Please, will you help us hit our $25,000 goal before midnight and give now to help Admiral Mike Franken defeat Chuck Grassley, turn Iowa blue, and protect our Democratic Senate majority?

I’ve never seen anything this offensive in all my decades working in politics. Just goes to show you how scared Grassley is that we’re going to win come November.
