Democrats are heading toward November with a new confidence, and a deep record of accomplishments in this Congress that may well be enough to keep both of our majorities, John.

No, this isn’t hyperbole. It’s based on real results.

The House just passed the inflation reduction bill to lower prescription drug costs and health insurance premiums, and make the largest climate investment EVER in our nation’s history. And the bill reduces our deficits by making large corporations pay their fair share in taxes.

Our job now is to take our record of accomplishments and present our case to the American people. But we only have about 12 weeks to do it, so I have to ask for your support:

Just take a look at everything we’ve passed:

A $1.9 trillion rescue package that kept small businesses open, got Americans vaccinated and saved countless lives
A $1.2 trillion infrastructure plan to build roads, bridges and highways
The first federal gun safety legislation in 30 years
A big boost to semiconductor manufacturing and jobs at home
Veterans’ health care expansion
And now, a bill to lower health care costs, flight climate change and cut emissions by 40% this decade

That’s not to mention the Senate confirmation of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman to serve as a Supreme Court justice; an economy with more jobs than we had before the pandemic; record low unemployment; and the average price of gas below $4 per gallon for the first time since March.

John, we’ve fought for every single inch of progress through our 50-50 Senate majority, and 4-seat House majority.

Despite Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell’s obstruction.

Now, we have just 12 weeks to make the case to the American people why we can do even more if we hold onto both the House and Senate.

I know we can do it, John. I believe that now more strongly than ever. But it will take resources to overcome McCarthy and McConnell’s unprecedented wave of midterm spending.
