Dear friends,

Today, Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act, a historic piece of legislation that has put climate change front and center by funding $369 billion in domestic energy production and manufacturing, reducing carbon emissions by roughly 40% by 2030. Communities like ours need this funding for critical programs in energy security and climate change.

This bill will lower the energy costs for every American including lowering prices at the pump and helping people like us afford new technologies that will lower emissions and energy prices. That includes:

  • $9 billion in consumer home energy rebate programs
  • Up to $7,500 tax credits when purchasing electric vehicles
  • $1 billion grant program to make affordable housing more energy efficient
  • $6 billion invested into disadvantaged communities that increases grant funding to rehabilitate homes and mitigate negative impacts of a declining transit network, to name a few

When elected to Congress I will continue to represent your best interests and act as your voice to create and drive new legislation that further lessens the burden on every day New Yorkers. This bill is a historic start but we have far more work to do on improving flood mitigation; funding our local infrastructure; addressing gun violence by instituting universal background checks, national red flag laws, banning ghost guns, and raising the age for gun ownership; protecting women’s reproductive rights and access to an abortion; securing our safety by supporting Israel and our international democratic allies; and fighting to reinstate and increase the SALT tax deduction to end the inequitable taxation of New York residents.

You can count on my promise that the interests of my constituents will ALWAYS come first, and not, as we’ve witnessed with our current representative, when it suits a personal agenda. I have always worked for the betterment of all residents in my district, and when in Congress, you can be assured I will fight for you and your children’s future.

Starting tomorrow, Saturday, August 13, you can vote for that better future. See below for more voting information.
