Hello Friends, 

This was a busy week between New Hampshire and Washington, and it was an incredibly consequential week for our state and nation. Today, we passed the Inflation Reduction Act – transformative legislation to lower health care costs for Granite Staters, combat climate change, and strengthen our economy while reducing the deficit and ensuring the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share in taxes.

This transformative legislation will improve the lives of Americans in New Hampshire and across the country and ensure a brighter future for all.

I’m proud that my bipartisan legislation to support Granite State seniors and lower their health costs – the Protecting Seniors Through Immunization Act – was included as a provision in the Inflation Reduction Act, and is headed to the president’s desk. My bill ensures access to life-saving vaccinations for Medicare recipients with no out-of-pocket costs.

Today’s passage of the Inflation Reduction Act will have a far-reaching positive impact on millions of Americans for generations to come, and I look forward to the president signing this bill into law.

The PACT Act is now law, ensuring veterans exposed to toxins while serving get the health care they need.

This week, President Biden signed the PACT Act into law, expanding access to care for millions of veterans exposed to toxic chemicals while serving. I was proud to help get the PACT Act over the finish line in the House to ensure our nation’s veterans who were exposed to toxic chemicals while serving can access the health care they need and deserve.

The men and women who serve our nation in uniform make tremendous sacrifices in defense of our freedoms. As the daughter of a World War II veteran and POW, I know that wounds of war take many forms and that we must continually work to improve access to the care and services our veterans need. Like the Vietnam veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange, and then for years denied the care they needed, this recognition is long overdue and necessary to ensure that the care and coverage offered at the VA reflect the needs of those who have served. I will continue to work with both Republicans and Democrats to make sure that our veterans and military families are not left behind.

I joined our Congressional Delegation, Secretary Raimondo, and leadership from onsemi for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their Hudson facility.

Yesterday, I joined the New Hampshire Congressional Delegation and Department of Commerce Secretary Raimondo at onsemi’s semiconductor facility in Hudson to discuss the positive impact the CHIPS and Science Act will have on our nation's security, economy, and competitiveness with China.

President Biden signed the CHIPS and Science Act into law this week.

It’s exciting to see the Granite State helping to lead the way in the high-tech economy and promoting American leadership on the world stage. This bipartisan innovation and competition bill will ensure crucial computer chips necessary for everyday life are manufactured right here in the United States, create thousands of jobs, bolster our national security, lower costs for consumers, and position America to lead the high-tech economy of the future.

I joined Regional EPA Administrator Cash, Congressman Pappas, and Nashua Mayor Donchess in Nashua to announce this Brownfields Program funding.

On Monday, I joined U.S. EPA New England Region Administrator Dr. David Cash, Congressman Chris Pappas, and Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess to announce federal funds which represent an important investment in our Granite State communities to clean up and rehabilitate contaminated sites and build a cleaner environment and stronger economy right here in New Hampshire.

I'm pleased to see the EPA direct these substantial Brownfields Program resources from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to cities and towns across our state, and I will continue working to protect and preserve our New Hampshire lands and environment for generations to come.

It was great to hear from constituents who have received assistance from my office and to discuss the services my office provides.

Assisting Granite Staters throughout the Second Congressional District with federal agencies and bureaucratic challenges is one of my top priorities, and I’m proud of the work my office is doing to help folks navigate complicated issues.

Earlier this week, I appreciated the opportunity to hear firsthand the positive impact my team has had on New Hampshire families – from helping folks receive their tax refunds, to securing passports when there are disruptive delays. I thank Bick from New London, Bill from Amherst, Pam from Hopkinton, and Bill from Walpole for joining me for this discussion.
