After passing landmark legislation to grow manufacturing, invest in infrastructure, create jobs, address community health, and fight gun violence, today we delivered once again by:
Passing the Inflation Reduction Act to create clean energy jobs in Kansas, lower health care costs, and reduce the deficit. It’s now heading to the president’s desk to be signed into law!
This bill is a massive investment in lowering costs for working Kansans. It will lower health care and energy costs—including landmark investments in clean energy manufacturing and electric vehicles—while reducing the national debt by more than $300 billion.
It includes plans for Medicare to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies to lower prescription drug prices and an insulin price cap at $35 a month for seniors on Medicare. It will save the average household in KS-03 nearly $4,000 on insurance premiums.
This bill will also reduce gas prices in the short term and reduce harmful emissions in the long term. Make no mistake: No matter what my opponent tells you in her misleading attack ads, this is a monumental leap forward for our country.
Bills like this only become law because folks like you donate, organize, and get out to vote. So thank you for always stepping up for campaigns like mine that are crucial toss-ups.
