John,
{else}} This week, Congress is making history with the Inflation Reduction Act.
South Sound families are struggling to pay the bills and afford basic necessities. From the gas pump to the pharmacy, costs are too high and too many working Americans are being ripped off.
The Inflation Reduction Act will go a long way toward alleviating that burden. We’re making historic investments to reduce energy costs, lower the cost of prescription drugs and health care, and build a sustainable future for our country.
This is a major victory for South Sound families and I need to know that you’re standing with me. Add your name to support Democrats’ landmark investment in economic resiliency, affordable health care, and climate action. [[link removed]]

This major package will reduce health care costs and cap prescription drug prices for seniors on Medicare. We’re also reducing energy costs through consumer rebates on home energy and tax credits to purchase clean vehicles.
Earlier this week, a group of more than 100 economists, including Nobel laureates and two former U.S. Treasury Secretaries, wrote to Congress in support of this legislation:
“ This proposal addresses some of the country’s biggest challenges at a significant scale. And because it is deficit-reducing, it does so while putting downward pressure on inflation. ”
As your voice in Congress, I’m committed to continuing to find solutions to lower costs and lift up South Sound families and seniors.
That’s why I’m asking you to become one of the 10,000 supporters we need to show their support for this major step forward. [[link removed]]
