The U.S. House passed the Inflation Reduction Act – the largest action our country has EVER taken to combat the climate crisis!
Hard-working Americans across the country will finally see cleaner air, lower utility bills, more affordable electric vehicles, and millions more good-paying clean energy jobs.
And all these changes will add up to a liveable climate for our children and grandchildren.
There’s just one last step before this bill becomes law – President Biden must sign it.

While this deal is not perfect and there are elements we wish were not in the bill, it’s clear that this is a now or never moment. The climate crisis is exacerbating extreme weather and wildfires in our country like never before. We need solutions now.
The Inflation Reduction Act will help cut planet-warming pollution roughly 40% by 2030 and protect our communities from future devastation . Plus it will:
- Create a bridge to help transition energy workers and communities to a clean energy economy.
- Reduce pollution and climate threats in communities on the frontlines of legacy environmental and health hazards.
- Create more than 9 million good paying jobs over the next decade—an average of nearly 1 million jobs each year.
- Expand rebates for electric vehicles and other energy efficient products, helping Americans save on money on gas and on their utilities.
- Cut the price of prescription drugs and keep health insurance costs low for millions of Americans.
Many Conservation Voters of PA members have been fighting for bold climate policy for months, years, and even decades – and I’m so relieved to finally say that we’re about to win this fight.
