#LowcountryFirst Pass In Review | August 12, 2022 A Week With You Happy Friday! We spent this week working hard for you in the Lowcountry and connecting with many of you to hear your concerns and keep you updated! Last weekend was tax-free weekend in SC, and I hope many of you had the chance to stock up on school supplies for the upcoming year. It’s hard to believe the Summer is already over! On Monday, we hosted Coffee with Your Congresswoman at Essentials Coffee in Moncks Corner. Thanks to everyone who came out and met our team. It was a pleasure to update you on our work in DC and hear about many of your biggest concerns. On Wednesday, we celebrated an important milestone for manufacturing in our district. The Boeing plant in North Charleston delivered their first Dreamliner since May 2021, signaling Lowcountry manufacturing is back on track. We should be proud of all the incredible products made right here in the first Congressional District. Wednesday evening we attend the “Know Your Lawmaker” event with the MT. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce. It was great to catch up with other state and local elected officials as well as connect with constituents and business leaders in the area. We always appreciate the opportunity to hear about the issues which effect you the most. We stayed busy Thursday and started the workday at the Back to School Bash for kids at the YMCA in Summerville. Our team helped pass out some much-needed school supplies as we count down the last few days of summer. Thursday evening we hosted “Cocktails with Your Congresswoman” at New Realm Brewing on Daniel Island. We had a great turnout and enjoyed relaxing with you all after the workday. Stay tuned for more events to come across the district. Earlier this afternoon I was called back to Washington to vote on another reckless spending bill being forced upon us from the left. The inappropriately named “Inflation Reduction Act” does virtually nothing to address the root causes of inflation. Inflation, caused by massive spending, isn't going to be solved with more massive spending. Inflation caused by tax hikes isn't going to be solved with more tax hikes. And just this week President Biden claimed inflation was at 0%. It’s not. But… if inflation was really at zero, then why was Congress called in to vote for a bill the left claims will reduce inflation? South Carolinians are struggling and so too are our small businesses. The Inflation Reduction Act doesn’t even begin to address the major, contributing factors to inflation (spending and taxes). Are you living in the Lowcountry with an adorably cute dog? Every weekend, we highlight one District Dog on our social media platforms. Submit your dog here. UPCOMING EVENT: Cocktails with Your Congresswoman on Monday at 2:00pm at Reilley’s Bar and Grille at 7D Greenwood Dr, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928. Stop by and beat the Monday blues with our team. We look forward to seeing you there! As always, if you need us, call us. Whether you need help with a passport, issues with receiving your tax refund or the Veterans Administration, please reach out to our office if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to be heard on any issue at any time. It’s an immense honor to serve each and every one of you. Sincerely, ‌ Congresswoman Nancy Mace Visit My Website District Dog of the Week District Dog 🐶 This week's District Dog is Harley, a 12-year-old pup who resides on beautiful Hilton Head Island.
